As founders of the Catholic Worker in Houston, the Zwicks were faced with Central American refugees pouring into the busy streets of Houston. Inspired by Dorothy Day and the mysterious presence of the Lord in the poor, they opened a Catholic Worker House of Hospitality for homeless refugees.
This book is the Zwick's' story, a Catholic Worker story, interwoven with the stories, the joys, hopes and tragedies of immigrants who have come to Houston, and an impassioned plea for a change in the political and economic forces which drive people to immigrate.
